We recommend that you discuss your proposals with staff before submitting a permit or planning application. Staff will be able to tell you whether your property is regulated by GRCA and what plans, reports or other information you will need to submit with your application. 

For title clearances, realtor and property inquiries, please email permits@grandriver.ca and include your name, phone number, the full municipal address of the subject property and any questions you are looking to have answered.

You can also visit Map Your Property to determine whether the property of interest is regulated by GRCA. GRCA’s Policies for the Administration of Ontario Regulation 41/24 may also be consulted.

  • Our response will include a summary of any regulated features on the property and the regulation limits. 
  • A fee of $255 is required to be paid in advance. 
  • Please allow up to 10 business days for the response to be provided. 

If you have a concern regarding development within or near a GRCA regulated feature (such as wetland, watercourse, erosion hazard or floodplain), you can submit information to the Permits Inbox. Alternatively, you can submit a complaint about development within or near a GRCA regulated feature through the Complaints page. Please include as much detail as possible, including the address or location of the works.
