SC Johnson Trail

The SC Johnson Trail runs 14 kilometres between Paris and Brantford. It travels through farm fields, rare prairie grasslands and provides several scenic vistas overlooking the Grand River.

  • The trail is finished with stone dust and has some steep hills.
  • A few short sections follow municipal roadways, so watch for traffic.
  • The brochure, Explore the Hamilton-Brantford-Cambridge Trails (2MB PDF), includes a map and descriptions of highlights along the trail.
  • The SC Johnson Trail follows the abandoned Lake Erie and Northern Railway bed and was completed in 1998 through a generous donation by SC Johnson and Son Ltd. of Brantford to the Grand River Conservation Foundation.

  • Paris: Curtis Avenue, just south of Dundas Street East (Highway 2) (View a Google Map)
  • Powerline Road: SC Johnson Parking area, mid-way between Paris and Brantford on Powerline Road, west of Oak Park Road (View a Google Map)
  • Brantford: Kraemer's Way, west of Oak Park Road (View a Google Map)
  • Brantford: Limited parking at Wilkes Dam, at Lafayette Street and Dufferin Avenue (View a Google Map)

  • Hiking and biking all year.
  • Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.
  • NOT permitted: motorized vehicles of any kind, including e-bikes.

  • At the Brantford end, the trail connects to the City of Brantford trails. One leg takes you on a pedestrian/cycling bridge across the Grand River past Brant Conservation Area. The other leg continues to Wilkes Dam at Lafayette Street. You can follow the Brantford trails to reach the Brantford to Hamilton Rail Trail. The result is one continuous trail from Cambridge to Hamilton.
  • At the Paris end, the trail connects to the Cambridge to Paris Rail Trail.
