Elora Cataract Trailway

The 47 kilometre Elora Cataract Trailway links the Grand and Credit watersheds and follows the old Canadian Pacific railroad bed.

  • Elora: Gerrie Road near County Road 18 (View a Google Map)
  • Fergus: The trail is on-street through Fergus. Parking on Gartshore Street near Forfar Street East (Map) and on Beatty Line near Hill Street West. (View a Google Map)
  • Belwood Lake Conservation Area: Parking is available at Belwood Lake with paid admission. There is no park admission fee for hikers passing through the park along the trail. Trail users who want to remain in the park must pay the admission fee. (View a Google Map)
  • Orton: Erin Garafraxa Townline (View a Google Map)
  • Hillsburgh; Station Street (View a Google Map)
  • Erin: Ross Street (View a Google Map)
  • Cataract: Intersection of Cataract and Mississauga roads (View a Google Map)

  • Hiking and biking all year.
  • Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.
  • Horseback riding between Fergus and Cataract, except between March 15 and May 31.
  • NOT permitted: motorized vehicles of any kind, including e-bikes.

  • The Grand Valley Trail passes along a section of the Elora Cataract Trailway.
  • The Bruce Trail can be accessed from the Forks of Credit Provincial Park.
