Explore our 12 conservation areasan easy drive away in southwestern Ontario. Swimming, camping, fishing, skiing, hiking and more, we've got many opportunities for you to connect with the outdoors!

Some conservation areas are open from spring to fall, and some are open all year round. Learn about each area by visiting these links (for hours, fees, amenities, programs, photos and more):

*Please note not all activities or amenities are available every day of the season. As well, some conservation areas close on December 25 and 26, and/or other days as needed. Visit the conservation area webpage for details.

Status of conservation areas and activities

The total number of daily visitors to our conservation areas is limited and access may be restricted. Get real-time capacity information, including whether the conservation area, or an activity, is open or has reached its operating capacity. You can also visit our Service Disruptions page.

Activities

Reconnect with a river and a rod. Join family on a forest hike. Share a selfie after a swim. Grand River Conservation Areas offer breathtaking beauty and many opportunities to connect outdoors.

Facilities for groups 

Grand River Conservation Areas can be the location of your group event, whether it's a wedding, company picnic or family reunion. They also offer unique locations for meetings and seminars. View our group facilities page.

Grand River Conservation Areas Membership

** A Grand River Conservation Areas membership card allows entry to all conservation areas listed above with the exception of the Elora Quarry, during their operating seasons, for up to 6 people in one vehicle (or walking in). Learn more about the Grand River Conservation Areas Membership program.

Elora Quarry

** New pilot program for 2024 - Membership holders will now be able to reserve admission (up to 5 people per membership) to the Quarry throughout the 2024 season.  A limited number of spaces will be held each day for Grand River Conservation Area Members.  All passholders must use the online reservation system and book their time in advance and require a confirmation ticket to enter.  Standard Elora Quarry parking fees will apply should a parking space be required. Advance sales only.
