Conservation Areas ePass

No cash, no problem! 

You can now pay for day-use visits at select Grand River Conservation Areas using your smartphone.

When gatehouse staff are not present, please follow the instructions on the ePass signs in the parking lot areas. The signs will look similar to the one shown on this page. Scan the QR to start. It's that easy! 

This new ePass pilot program has been implemented at Belwood LakeConestogo Lake (Lower Park), Guelph LakeLuther Marsh Wildlife Management AreaPinehurst Lake and Rockwood.

About the ePass

  • Please note you must be in the conservation area to use the ePass system; it cannot be used to register and pay for visits in advance.
  • Use the ePass system to pay for a day-use visit for up to six people in your vehicle, when gatehouse staff are not present, at applicable properties.
  • The ePass system is only valid when staff are not on duty. When gatehouse staff are on duty, please register and pay with them.  Standard per person day admission rates will apply.
  • To launch the ePass system, use your smartphone camera to scan the QR code on the sign. (Alternatively, you can type the provided web address in to your phone's browser.)
  • Grand River Conservation Areas membership pass holders can use the ePass system to register their visit. When entering a valid membership pass number, the payment portion is waived.

Payment details

  • Through the ePass system, the day-use entry fee is equivalent to the auto-gate admission fee for up to six people in your vehicle. This is the same price that is charged when entering through one of the automated gates found at select conservation areas. 
  • Visitors who are unable to use the ePass system - for whatever reason - have the option of using the existing self-registration stations, using exact change only.
  • Please note that the ePass system charges your credit card immediately. No refunds are given. Once the transaction is complete, you will receive a receipt by email. Staff may ask to see the receipt, so please be sure to keep it with you for the duration of your visit.
  • Please note that 'free conservation area admission' coupons cannot be used in the ePass system.
  • Grand River Conservation Area membership pass holders may use the ePass system to register their visit. When entering a valid membership pass number, the payment portion is waived.
