Bird checklist

More than 300 bird species have been recorded within the Grand River watershed, including breeding and non-breeding species, and vagrant species occuring outside of their normal or typical geographic range. Domestic escapees are not included in this checklist.

The list of birds includes 69 species considered to be rare in Ontario and 35 species considered to be at risk in Ontario and/or Canada, according to the Ontario Ministry of Nothern Development, Mines, Natural Resources, and Forestry and Environment and Climate Change Canada.

The checklist is currently in the process of being updated.
