Public trails at Guelph Lake closed for construction

The public trails adjacent to the Speed River, between Victoria Road North and the Guelph Lake Dam, will be closed beginning Thursday January 13, 2022 for the purpose of improving trail accessibility. Construction is expected to be complete by early to mid-March, weather dependent. Access to the Guelph Off-Road Bicycling Association (GORBA) trail system will be intermittent during construction. For trail status updates, visit the GORBA website.

Trail closure signs will be posted at entrances to the property and access will not be permitted during construction. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area while the work is underway and to obey all posted signage so that construction crews may complete the work safely.

The Grand River Conservation Authority is undertaking the trail accessibility improvements through donations and support from the Rotary Club of Guelph and the City of Guelph.
