Haldimand Children’s Water Festival and Partner Luncheon
The fifth annual Haldimand Children’s Water Festival at the Grand River Conservation Authority’s (GRCA) Taquanyah Nature Centre will help 500 elementary school students splash their way to a better understanding of water: where it comes from, how we use it, and how we can protect and conserve it.
Students from Haldimand County, Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation will take part in more than 20 fun, interactive games during their one-day visit to the festival being held at the Taquanyah Nature Centre on May 22 and 23. The festival is free of charge for students to attend.

“Since its inception, the Haldimand Children’s Water Festival has helped teach more than 1,500 students about how valuable water is as a resource in our community,” says GRCA festival organizer Sue Brocklebank.
The festival has run annually since October 2014 through the support of the Grand River Conservation Foundation (GRCF) and other community partners.
The festival receives support from the following sponsors and partners: Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board, Ron and Nancy Clark Foundation, Grand Erie District School Board, Grand River Conservation Authority, Grand River Conservation Foundation, Habitat Haldimand, Haldimand County, Haldimand County Public Library, Haldimand Museums, Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit, Long Point Region Conservation Authority, Ontario Power Generation, Rotary Club of Dunnville, Ruthven Park, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and Veolia.
