Byng Island Conservation Area - Water testing delayed

Please be advised that due to water main repairs at Byng Island Conservation Area, staff have been unable to test the municipally sourced water, and as a precaution, are advising all visitors that the water may not be safe for human consumption. Signage has been posted at conservation area buildings and taps. Testing is expected to be completed during the week of May 4, 2026. Once clear results have been received, conservation area staff will remove all posted signage. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Temporary Closure: Woolwich Reservoir

Please be advised the Woolwich Reservoir laneway at 7224 Reids Wood Drive, northwest of Elmira, will be closed on Monday, May 4, from 7am to 5pm for fence removal. This is the second phase of a multi-phase project to remove interfering vegetation, and replant the area with a pollinator seed mix. The public is reminded to heed all posted signage, and to respect the closure. 

Conifer Plantation Thinning: Puslinch Lake

Please be advised that conifer plantations at Puslinch Lake are being thinned, beginning February 19, 2026. Heavy machinery will be felling and removing trees throughout the site. The property impacted by the work is closed to the public, and the public is reminded not to enter. The work is anticipated to pause on March 15, 2026 and will resume in the fall of 2026. Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area - Construction detour and access disruption: 2025-2028

The County of Brant is undertaking a multi-year road construction project that will create detours and access disruptions to Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area. Learn more on the County of Brant website.

Ongoing closure: Mill Ruins at Rockwood Conservation Area closed

The ruins of the Harris & Co. Rockwood Woolen Mill remain closed due to potential safety concerns.
