Temporary Closure: Elora Cataract Rail Trail
The Elora Cataract Rail Trail will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, August 31, 2026, to allow for trail maintenance work. The closure is expected to remain in place until Thursday, September 3, 2026. Visitors are asked to avoid the trail during this time.
Notice of Herbicide Use at Luther Marsh Wildlife Management Area.
On Wednesday, August 26 a contractor is applying herbicide to scattered patches of Phragmites found adjacent to the Luther Marsh Reservoir and on surrounding lands. The risk of exposure to visitors is very low. Luther Marsh will remain open for recreational use. Visitors should avoid Phragmites stands (6+ foot tall, dense grass patches) on the application day, or if concerned, wait 48 hours after the application date before visiting.
Phragmites is a non-native invasive grass that destroys habitat for birds, turtles and other wildlife. The GRCA is attempting to control Phragmites at Luther Marsh prior to it having significant impacts on wildlife habitat and other significant ecological values found at Luther.

Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area - Construction detour and access disruption: 2025-2028
The County of Brant is undertaking a multi-year road construction project that will create detours and access disruptions to Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area. Learn more on the County of Brant website.
Ongoing closure: Mill Ruins at Rockwood Conservation Area closed
The ruins of the Harris & Co. Rockwood Woolen Mill remain closed due to potential safety concerns.
