Elora Quarry

• • Visitors must purchase admission tickets and parking permits online, in advance, in order to enter. Walk-up ticket sales are not available.
  • Two 4-hour sessions are offered each day, with capacity limited to 350 people or 150 vehicles per session. Admission tickets and parking permits must be purchased separately for each session. Parking permits alone are NOT valid for entry. Choose from two sessions:
    • 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (AM Ticket)
    • 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (PM Ticket) 

  • Grand River Conservation Area Membership passes are accepted but pre-purchased tickets and parking passes are still required. Membership holders are now able to reserve admission (up to 6 people per membership) to the Quarry throughout the 2026 season. NEW: Some membership passholders are experiencing technical difficulties when purchasing tickets online.   • A limited number of spaces will be held each day for Grand River Conservation Area Membership holders.  All passholders must use the online reservation system and book their time in advance and require a confirmation ticket and must present a valid Membership card to enter.  Standard Elora Quarry parking fees will apply should a parking space be required. 

  • Admission tickets and parking permits are non-refundable and non-exchangeable for any reason after the order transaction is complete. (The only exception to this policy occurs if we close the Elora Quarry to visitors.)

  • Tickets and parking permits are available for purchase online only. Tickets are released weekly on Friday afternoons for the following week (for the following Monday through Sunday). The cost of admission is $12.50 for adults, $9.00 for seniors and people with disabilities, $6.50 for children, and a parking permit can be purchased for $18.00 per session.

  • To help avoid traffic congestion in the area, vehicles are not permitted to park along the side of the road in advance of scheduled entry times and visitors should plan their arrival accordingly.

A large beach area offers easy access to the water and a sandy area for children and sunbathers.

• No jumping, diving or climbing is permitted from the cliffs. Visitors must stay behind the barriers. Violators will be evicted.
• The beach is not patrolled so parents or guardians must keep a close watch on their children at all times.
• Competent swimming abilities are strongly recommended if entering the water.
• The use of personal floatation devices (PFDs) are strongly recommended.
• Watercraft including boats, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, large rafts, and boat-style inflatables are not permitted at Elora Quarry.

We now offer a life jacket loaner program. To borrow a life jacket, please speak with gatehouse staff when you arrive.

The conservation area has a one kilometre loop trail that meanders through cedar forests and, in spots, overlooks the Grand River.

The Elora Cataract Trailway, a 47 kilometre trail linking the Grand and Credit river watersheds, is minutes away from the conservation area.

There are shaded areas for picnics and a few tables available on a first-come, first-served basis. No covered shelters are available.

Day-use visitors may use barbecues for cooking purposes in designated picnic areas. Never leave barbecues unattended, and please use extreme caution. 

The gatehouse is the place to go to get further information about the conservation area and report any problems or concerns.

There are two concrete vault-type washrooms and a flush toilet trailer. There is also a small change room.

Grocery, hardware and drug stores are in Elora and Fergus.

Medical services are available at Groves Memorial Hospital, 131 Frederick Campbell Street, Fergus.
